Cost-per-purchase change is the median across 31 accounts that stayed with us at least six months, comparing the 30 days before we started with days 61 to 90, measured between January 2025 and March 2026. Creative and spend totals cover calendar 2025. Source: client ad accounts and store order data. Results vary with margin, offer and category — this is our middle, not our best month.

Rebuilt around one hook family

Spending $6,800 a month on Meta across eleven campaigns, with a cost per purchase that had climbed five months in a row. We consolidated to two campaigns, paused about 80% of the running ads, and used the first six weeks of tests to find which of four hook families the category actually responded to.

When the tracking was the whole problem

A brand convinced Meta had stopped working: reported cost per purchase had nearly doubled in a quarter. Purchases were tracked by the browser pixel alone, and about a quarter of store orders never reached Meta. Setting up the Conversions API with proper deduplication changed the picture before we changed a single ad, and Meta, now optimizing on complete data, found more buyers at the same spend.

Phone footage, cut properly

A two-person brand spending $2,800 a month on Meta, still running the three ads it launched with and with no budget for a shoot. We cut new ads every month from the founder's phone clips and videos customers had sent in with permission, testing hooks before formats. By month four one angle was clearly ahead: the founder answering the question that kept appearing in the comments. The brand moved to Growth in month five to add TikTok.
